Crowns
For teeth with deep levels of decay, damage or excessive wear, crowns are often an excellent solution for the restoration of tooth function.
Whether a tooth requires the strength of a gold crown, or a tooth-colored restorative crown is preferable for aesthetic reasons, Dr. Goll has the knowledge and expertise to improve tooth function and appearance through the placement of dental crowns.
Dr. Goll’s prosthodontist designation means he has completed three years of post-doctoral study in the area of tooth replacement. Essentially, Dr. Goll is a foremost expert in the practice of the placement of crowns, bridges and dental implants.
Crown Placement – What to Expect
Crowns are placed on teeth that require restoration as a result of decay or trauma. Porcelain crowns are often used to replace old restorations made of metal and mercury.
When preparing a tooth for crowning, Dr. Goll sculpts the top of your tooth. Once the tooth’s surface is prepared, Dr. Goll makes an impression of the tooth and sends the impression to his dental laboratory where a custom crown is created to fit your tooth precisely.
If you are suffering from discomfort involving one or more of your teeth, or are considering crown replacement please call our smile care team to schedule your restorative visit at 206.625.9733.
