Complete Dentures and Removable Partial Dentures

These types of replacements have been around for decades and are still the most cost effective way of replacing missing teeth. Modern technology has provided us with the finest materials to allow a natural looking replacement for nature's own. The use of unsightly metal clasps in removable partial dentures can now be avoided too!

This lady requested new dentures that were in harmony with her facial features, skin color, and enhance her smile.

Veneers

Very often a thin covering of a tooth is all that is required to dramatically improve the appearance of a stained, cracked, chipped or dark tooth. It may be unnecessary to cover and cut down the whole tooth and place a crown so a veneer made of porcelain or a composite material is the ideal solution. No metal is used in these restorations.

Crowns (Caps) & Bridges

One major advance in this branch of dentistry is the use of all - ceramic materials which are immensely strong and do not require a metal substructure as in the old days. This allows a perfect match to the adjacent teeth because light reflects off these restorations making them look utterly natural.

Due to significant wear on this patient's natural teeth, they began to discolor, crack, and chip. Individual crowns were placed to restore these four teeth to their original size.

A new bridge was indicated for this patient and excellent harmony was provided to match her adjacent teeth.

Fillings

The use of metal-type fillings are nearly always avoided now with the use of composite materials that are both durable and so natural that you can barely see them.

Implants

History and research has shown that if titanium is placed into bone that the bone bonds to the implant surface and it remains in place almost 100% of the time. If conditions are favorable the use of implants allows us to dispense with removable partial dentures, or to replace a single missing tooth, even help retain a complete denture that is considerably smaller in size. This therefore allows better taste, speech and less bulk to contend with in your mouth. A single tooth replacement or a fixed bridge will be the same size as the original tooth being replaced and so what could feel better than this?

AfterImplants - After

The patient lost her upper left lateral and this was replaced with an implant and single crown. Color matching was a challenge due to the uneven coloration of her original teeth.

An implant was placed in the upper right central incisor position. The silver post is screwed to the implant body and this allows the crown to attach to the implant.
