Implant Process
Thanks to recent advancements in prosthodontic technology placing dental implants is more streamlined, comfortable and affordable than it has ever been.
The placement of dental implants often involves two procedures.
First, implants are placed within your jawbone. The implants remain below the surface of your gum for a six to sixteen week healing period and gradually fuse to the jawbone. You can continue to wear your dentures or temporary teeth during this time.
After each implant has bonded to the bone or “osseointergrated”, Dr. Goll performs a minor procedure to uncover the implants. Small posts are attached to the implants. These posts protrude through the gums and serve as anchors for the replacement of each missing tooth.
Seattle dental implant specialist, Dr. George Goll, then adheres a prosthetic tooth, or porcelain crown to the implant post, restoring the function and appearance, so your implant teeth function just like teeth.
Most Seattle dental implant patients experience little or no disruptions to everyday life. More importantly, many Seattle dental implant patients return for visits singing the praises of dental implants. Patients often remark about how much more confidence they have because of their dental implants, or how they now enjoy chewing and tasting food, spending time with family and grandchildren, and a few of our patients have been so inspired by their new smiles that they have hit the dating scene again!
Dr. George Goll is Seattle’s Dental Implant specialist. His three years post-doctoral training earned him a specialist designation in the area of prosthodontics, or replacement of missing teeth. Dr. Goll has over 30 years of experience and has placed over a thousand dental implants for his patients.
